Saint Francis of the Fools. This work is very complicated. It is a self portrait, but also an attempt to reveal the mysticism and dark transformation involved in the artistic process. Like the way St. Francis received God's inspiration through the stigmata, I believe that artists are vessels for a greater creative inspiration. An artist must work toward the receiving of creative inspiration, but is ultimately gifted with an eternal synchronized moment of inspiration.
