I became very interested in the character of the fool as well as the mystical experience. I was attempting to portray a sensitive personality in the midst of a visionary experience. The visionary experience is a revelation of a way of life. The archetypal fool, or Charlie Chaplin in this case, is someone who stumbles through the everyday, only to find himself on top of the world, without worry. The fool is a flexible shape shifter, or a wave rider, who is able to navigate his way around corners through his flexibility and dexterity.
